Naples Lions Club Establishes Hispanic Branch at Pelican Church
Naples, FL, November 12, 2024 — The Naples Lions Club proudly announces the establishment of its new Hispanic Branch at Pelican Church, Naples. This new branch will focus on delivering critical services to the Hispanic community, with a special emphasis on immigration support, along with free eye and hearing screenings.
Immigration Support:
The new Hispanic Branch will provide information and education on the initial stages of immigration, offering referrals to reliable immigration experts. This service aims to ease the complexity of the immigration process, providing a pathway to security and peace of mind for many community members.
Free Eye Exams and Glasses:
In line with the Lions Club’s commitment to vision health, the Hispanic Branch will provide free eye exams for individuals who may not have access to routine healthcare. A professional Ophthalmologist will perform complete screenings, assessing eye health and diagnosing conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, and other vision impairments. For those in need, prescription glasses will be provided at no cost, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to see clearly.
Hearing Screenings:
The branch will also offer free hearing screenings, with trained specialists evaluating individuals for hearing loss. These screenings are crucial for early detection of auditory issues, which can significantly impact quality of life if left untreated. The club also provides access to affordable hearing aids for those who need further support.
Howard Freedman, board director and past president of the Naples Lions Club, shared his enthusiasm for the new initiative: “The establishment of this Hispanic Branch allows us to reach more people with our mission of service. Whether through healthcare, immigration support, or community outreach, we want to make a lasting difference.”
Cecilia Alarcon, president of the Hispanic Branch, emphasized the importance of community-focused services: “This is about serving our community in every way possible. From helping with vision and hearing health to providing immigration support, we’re here to make life easier for those who need it most.”
The Hispanic Branch is located at Pelican Church, 5800 Golden Gate Parkway, Naples.
